Sorry for the long delay
Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted here in a while. I started a Chinese blog and have been kinda busy with that one, but I shouldn't neglect my home either.
Wei and I recently submitted the paperwork for her Greencard, that was fun(heavy sarcasm).
Also Wei got a haircut and I cut my hair.

Been teaching and the national holiday is coming up, along with the Canton Fair( a big "convention" held every year) most of the 2nd year students will be working the fair until it's over. I had a blast in America and Wei and I should be back next summer for good.
Well, I'll add more later.
Thanks for reading,
Fritz

Famous friends
My friend's daughter from Shenzhen finally has some "national" advertizements. Wei and I saw the posters at the bus stop in GZ.
She was in Guangzhou last weekend to film another commercial, this time for a kids computer. They are even going to put her picture on the package. Pepsi saw her in Hong Kong and might talk to them.
That's all for now.

Back to my second home in the GZ...
Hey all,
I just got back to Guangzhou from spending the Chinese New Year in Xi'an with Wei's folks.
Spent lots of time walking around, having "wedding" dinners, and just relaxing. I did some handy-man work for her folks, installed a new light in their kitchen, cleaned/fixed some other lights.
At the first dinner we had they had a photographer and videographer there. I will put up some video of that after I have it transferred to digital from tape. Pics are below.
Foreward for this part, Wei's mom is old friends with this eye doc. No disrespect to anyone there. The eye doc had an "assistant" that makes the glasses. Also, I know the culture is different and I just shot this to show one of the differances. No disrespect for the people, this is just weird to me.
I tried to get some new glasses while up there, that was a disaster. I went for the "checkup" on a Monday, I think, then the next day, I went back and the right eye was wrong. The doc checked me again, and we waited another day. Went back again and the right eye was still bad. Another time and still bad. We gave up and got our money back for the lenses. I bought the frames at an eyeglass store.
A few days later we had our wedding pics taken. We were there for 6 hours and the following is the result. Yes there are more pics, I just picked 6 of them.

All in all I had a good time. A little long with the in-laws for my comfort though, but it was for a good cause.
Will post again when I edit some stuff for size matters.
On a side note, I'm trying to make a new trailer video for my little brother, J, but I can't get him to to his part for the video. Darn slacker.
Well, until next time...
Peace out y'all
Ron

Gearing up for the future
Hey all!
Wei and I just got our "official" picture for the gov't marriage certificate.
Everyone that gets married has to have this for their certificate book. It looks kinda like a passport book. We will probably go to the bureau of civil affairs some time in the next few weeks to get the certificate. That will make the marriage legal in China. We might do ceremony or a dinner here for her family and friends. Still in discussions though. Also, she is, as I am typing this, booking a flight for us to Xi'an. We are going back up north to visit her parents during the winter holiday/new year. Next year is the year of the bunny. All I can think of is the killer rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Run Away!!!!
Well, off to finish the lesson plans for tomorrow.

Asian Games and running on the water
Hey guys,
Well, the Asian Games opened last night.
Asian Games opening part 1 on youtube
There were fireworks(China, fireworks, go figure) Huge TVs, a man running on water. Lots of cool stuff.
I could see most of the fireworks from my building. The tower Wei and I went to in the last update was the one with the cool explosions going up it. In one part of the tower video, you can see the people practicing for the opening event.
Also on Thursdayafternoon, when talking to my little brother on SKYPE, I went to get something from the other room. My foot slipped and ran into something. YEAH!!!! Broke my index toe, right foot. Nice purple color.
Well, let me know what's on your mind, or what's going on.

Little update
Hey guys,
Haven't updated in a while I know. I've been busy with school and getting things done for Wei's b-day that just passed. and school, yes I know I said school. Anyway, Wei had a good birthday, she got a new DVD player, she really needed one, socks, a fish tank with blue glowy fish, and a diamond ring. A couple days ago we went to the new TV tower in Guangzhou, it's the tallest tower in the world at 610M. We went to the top floor and looked around. Sooooooooo many people were in there, but they had to shut down early because of a "VIP". I will link the website that has info about the tower at the bottom of the update. lots of neat info.
I know the song in the video isn't the best match but hey...
